Privacy Policy
TidyShot is a macOS app that helps you rename, organise, and search screenshots. We designed it to keep screenshot processing on your Mac.
What TidyShot Accesses
TidyShot accesses only the screenshot folder you choose inside the app, the image files stored there, and optional macOS capabilities needed for clipboard copying, OCR, and identifying the frontmost app for screenshot renaming.
Data Collection
TidyShot does not require an account and does not operate a cloud sync service. We do not collect your screenshots on our servers.
What TidyShot Stores Locally
- The local path to indexed screenshot files.
- The app name used for filename suggestions.
- Capture dates and the current filename.
- Optional OCR text and OCR fingerprints when text recognition is enabled.
How Your Data Is Processed
- Screenshot renaming and organisation happen locally on your Mac.
- Optional OCR is performed locally using Apple system frameworks.
- Clipboard copying happens locally on your device.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not intentionally share screenshot contents with third parties as part of the core TidyShot workflow.
Retention
Your screenshots remain in the folders and library locations you choose. The local search index and optional OCR data remain on your Mac until you rebuild or clear them from TidyShot, or remove the app.
Your Choices
You can stop using TidyShot at any time, disable optional features such as OCR or clipboard auto-copy in the app, clear the local search index or OCR data in Settings, and remove the app from your Mac.
Support Requests
If you contact support, you choose what to send us. Support emails may include information such as your macOS version, app version, and any screenshots or descriptions you attach.
